Heroes are cooler when they’re real. Who are yours?
Mothers, without a doubt. Building a career takes loads of time, dedication, and perseverance. And not to forget, the right people—like my wife. She’s my rock, a mother of two daughters, and works in health care. No hero more heroic.

What’s your dream place to live and why?
Let’s say the South of France. Peaceful pace, somewhat warmer and dreamy nature. Plus, it’s just a ride away from home, where all my friends and family live.

Any pet peeves?
Impatience. It often comes forth from great intentions, like drive and passion. Also, let’s be honest: I’m not one to like to idly wait, either.

What’s your strong suit?
If I really have to pick just one, then let’s go with passion. For my product, my work, my goals… It shines through in the way I go about things. Trust me: if I’m passionate about something, you’ll know I’m passionate about something.

What’s your dream place to live and why?
If it’s a dream anyway, then I don’t see a reason to choose. I’d like to have two dream getaways: one in a metropolis like Shanghai or New York, and one smack dab in the middle of nowhere. I want to be able to change it up whenever I feel like it.

What are words you live by?
“All will be well.” Trust the process, even when things go awfully wrong. Sooner or later, any crisis comes to an end, right? Well, that’s what I hold onto. The future.

When does time fly by?
Swiftly racing against time across the Drowned Land of Saeftinghe. Preferably in time trial position, in above-average condition.

Who are your heroes in prose?
Tim Krabbé.

Some names just have a nice ring to them. Your favourites?
Florian, Victor, Jonathan and Robin.

Some names just have a nice ring to it. Your favourites?
Italian names, for sure. Giulia and Emilia, for example. Might or might not be the names of my daughters.

What talents do you wish you’d have?
A sense of musicality. When I see my wife play the piano, I’m just as jealous as it gets.

What are words you live by?
“Impossible is nothing!”

What food makes you happy?
Just about anything with ham and cheese is heaven to me. No other combination is more perfect. I mean: croque monsieurs, mac and cheese, cordons bleus… I can go on.

Barcelona. Sun, city, architecture.

What’s your strong suit?
I take pride in my curiosity.

Favourite place to live?
I’ll have a sunset view in Ibiza anytime.

Which mistake is excusable?
Those who take the risk, those who put themselves out there, trying to make the world a better place for all of us, they deserve some credit.

Best thing about your friends?

I can count on them 24/7 and they take me as I am. And I love how we’ll grow old, but never really grow up.
